French poultry processor Duc has reported a 12% rise in sales for 2011 amid “difficult” trading conditions in the sector.

Duc yesterday (14 February) booked a 12.4% increase in revenue to EUR180.7m (US$236.4m) for the year. Sales growth slowed slightly in the fourth quarter but Duc still posted a 10.1% rise in turnover for the last three months of the year.

The company said it had benefited from the “strategic refocusing” of its business and claimed “significant” gains in market share.

Its full financial results will be published on 3 April.
