French ready-made dishes specialist, Raynal et Roquelaure, is planning to re-brand its range of tinned raviolis, tabbouleh and couscous.

The move is a result of the company losing the rights to use Nestlé’s Maggi and Buitoni brands for these products, which are to be re-branded under the “Zapetti” name.

The company had gained the rights to use the Butioni and Maggi brands for a limited period when it acquired Nestlé’s Butioni plant at Camaret-sur-Aigues, in southern France in June 2003.

The budget for the launch of the Zapetti brand is likely to total €15m (US$18.1m) with the change taking place from 2005.
