UK-based R&R Ice Cream is poised to acquire a shareholding in French own-brand counterpart Rolland, the French family-owned firm has confirmed.
Founded in 1898, Rolland employs 520 permanent staff at two plants and generates an annual turnover of EUR100m.
R&R produces a large range of ice creams for Nestlé in the UK, where it also turns out the Skinny Cow, Treats and De Roma brands. It also supplies major retailers across Europe such as Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Aldi and Edeka.
The size of R&R’s proposed stake in Rolland has not been disclosed.
Officials at R&R could not be reached for immediate comment.
