Senoble, France’s leading producer of retailers’ own-brand dairy products, is spending EUR30m (US$40.8m) on increasing the capacity of its manufacturing plants.
The investment will also see the family-owned firm expand its logistics hub. Based in Jouy, near Auxerre, Senoble produces around 600,000 tonnes of dairy products annually at seven plants, five of which are in France. The company’s two other sites are in Spain and Slovakia.
As well as supplying private-label dairy products, Senoble also produces its own-brand desserts and low-calorie yoghurts and desserts under the Weight Watchers brand. The company is France’s third-largest manufacturer of dairy products and desserts behind Danone and Yoplait.
In 2006, Senoble posted turnover of EUR809m, with exports accounting for 46% of sales.
