Centros Comerciales Carrefour, the Spanish arm of French retail giant Carrefour, has posted a rise in first-half net profit, helped by higher sales.
The Spanish retailer posted net profit of €98.1m (US$106.5m) for the first half, a 13% increase from the year-ago period.
Centros Comerciales Carrefour said higher sales and control of distribution costs helped lift operating profit 13% to €114m, reported Reuters.
First-half sales were €3.68bn, up 9.5% year-on-year. Hypermarket sales increased 6.7% on a like-for-like basis, while supermarket sales increased 4.7%.
