French gourmet grocer Fauchon is poised to open its renovated flagship store, La Belle Madeleine, in the chic Place de la Madeleine quarter of central Paris.
Founded in 1886, the company has invested EUR4m (US$5.7m) in the new 1,500 sq.m store, which will join a smaller outlet, La Boulangerie, only a few doors away, which opened at the start of the year.
The Paris store openings coincide with the recovery of the firm after three years of restructuring efforts.
Fauchon has expanded its presence abroad this year with new outlets in Tokyo, Beijing and Kuwait and a store-restaurant is set to open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia shortly.
