France’s cheese producers are set to launch a marketing offensive in the US to promote the country’s wares and cheese-making heritage.


The Cheeses of France “Parlez-Vous Fromage?” campaign begins this month in New York City in a bid to tap into growing demand for speciality cheese in the US.


“Our goal is to expand the understanding of the cheeses of France within the United States, and put a French-twist on the specialty cheese renaissance in America,” said Philippe Jachnik, international affairs counsellor for the Centre National Interprofessionnel de l’Economie Laitiere (CNIEL).


The CNIEL is a group of three federations set up in 1973 representing the milk industry in France.
