FrieslandCampina is looking to launch a line of products the Dutch dairy giant says will have an “extra focus on animals, nature, and climate”.
The co-op plans to introduce the as yet unnamed brand in early 2019, a spokesperson told just-food.
FrieslandCampina is eyeing an initial launch in its home market of the Netherlands, with Germany to “follow later”, the spokesperson added.
The company said the new products would be “dairy with a lower CO2 equivalent, with a high score on animal welfare and on biodiversity”.
The spokesperson said: “The introduction of this certified line meets the market demand for dairy products with a low CO2 equivalent and with a high score on animal welfare and biodiversity. We know that retailers and consumers are willing to pay more for these products. Besides our B2B partners ask for dairy products and ingredients contributing to the achievements of their own sustainability goals.”
