FRoSTA, the Germany-based frozen food group, saw its sales and earnings rise in 2015, with growth at home and overseas.
The company booked consolidated net income of EUR18.2m (US$20.8m), up from EUR17.3m in 2014.
Frosta’s turnover grew 7.9% to EUR440m. Private-label sales rose 8.8% to EUR287.8m despite what the company called “strong price pressure”.
Sales of products sold under the Frosta brand in Germany increased 12.5%, the group said, citing data from IRI. It pointed to a 23% rise in revenue from fish products and a 25% jump in sales from vegetable lines.
Outside of Germany, the group posted sales of EUR189.7m, against EUR177.4m in 2014. Frosta cited growth in Hungary and Romania.
Last year. Frosta embarked on a programme to label all its branded products with information on the origin of the ingredients in the products. The company uses more than 200 ingredients from 35 counties. Frosta said the project will be completed the end of the year.
