US business Galaxy Nutritional Foods, the maker of the Go Veggie brand, has announced the promotion of CFO and COO Brian O'Farrell to chief executive.
O'Farrell, who has worked at Galaxy for more than six years, will retain his current positions, the company said.
Current CEO Rick Antonelli will continue as chairman of the board and "maintain close ties" with the operations and development of the company, Galaxy said.
"It's an exciting time to get this opportunity here at Galaxy," said O'Farrell. "My first few years at Galaxy, along with Rick, were focused on establishing the company on a solid foundation in order to take the business to the next level and I think we have accomplished that goal… We have a number of exciting new products hitting the market currently, a strong pipeline of new ideas and the strongest and most dedicated team we have had since I have been here."
Galaxy manufactures cheese-free cheese alternatives and its range includes 52 products. The business has been owned by private-equity firm Mill Road Capital via its subsidiary Andromeda Acquisition since 2009.
