General Mills is launching a line of "premium" cooking stocks under its Progresso brand in the US.
The stocks target home cooks – in particular millenials – who are looking for "quick and convenient" home cooking products that also create "exciting new experiences".
"Millennials are cooking at home more often, and take pride in the presentation and quality of their dish," said Pinar Tutuncu, new products team lead for Progresso soups. "We created Progresso Cooking Stocks to fulfil that need of creativity and convenience in the kitchen while still using quality ingredients."
The stocks are made by simmering chicken bones, herbs and vegetables. The stocks are available in three varieties: chicken, unsalted chicken and vegetable. They are on sale at grocery retailers throughout the US.
