German discount retailer Aldi has said it plans to start selling packaged raw meat in 300 of its 2,300 German stores.

From April this year Aldi plans to sell eight different types of packaged raw meat, following similar moves by its competitors. German rival Netto has sold raw meat since 1992, while Lidl started selling raw meat products at the beginning of 2003, reported the German News Digest.
