efoodmanager, the Germany-based e-business solution provider for the food and retail industry, has announced a strategic alliance with compatriot eChainLogistics AG, a supplier of IT based logistics solutions for European companies.
eChainLogistics was formed through a joint venture between information technology provider Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC Ploenzke) and international logistics company Dachser GmbH & Co to provide information technology based logistics solutions for the European market. CSC and Dachser formed the new company in response to the rising demand for integrated fulfillment solutions for European e-enabled businesses.
Under the alliance, efoodmanager says its private e-business solution customers will benefit from a cost-efficient, fully integrated one-stop service, which covers the complete supply-chain process from order to delivery. As well as providing logistics solutions that include all transport methods, both companies will benefit from shared marketing and sales activities.
Jan Stenger, chief business development manager at efoodmanager, commented: “Dachser’s expertise in food logistics, with its strong European logistics network with intercontinental air and sea cargo connections coupled with CSC’s expertise of 40 years in developing, applying strategies and technologies will further strengthen efoodmanager’s position as the dominant provider for e-business solutions for the European food industry.”
