Kiel-based seafood processing firm Marlin Seafood GmbH & Co has forecast a full year turnover of 6m marks (US$2.7m) for 2001.


Dietmar Repka, Marlin’s MD, gave the predicted the figure yesterday [Tuesday] just one year after the company was launched.


Operating with 40 employees, Marlin produces ten tonnes worth of 400 different types of seafood every week, and serves about 300 regular customers throughout northern Germany.


The company has recently invested 6.5m marks in a new fish processing plant in a bid to comply with EU hygienic standard and to diversify its product portfolio.
