The news follows an announcement in May this year that Metro is working on creating “efficient” and “cost-oriented” re-organisations in central administrative functions, including IT, logistics and real estate functions.

The spokesperson, however, said the cost savings plans do not apply to Metro Cash & Carry Germany.
