Sugar producer Suedzucker today (20 September) upped its forecast for annual sales after enjoying a rise in first-half revenue.

The company is forecasting that group revenue will reach around EUR5.8bn (US$7.6bn) for its full fiscal year, up on the EUR5.7bn it posted last year.

Operating profit is still expected to reach more than EUR450m, up on the EUR403m, driven predominantly by the sugar and CropEnergies segments.

The company said first-half group operating profit grew 57% to reach EUR282m and that all segments contributed to the improvement. Group revenue increased about 5% to EUR3.06bn.
