Fragrances and flavours group Symrise has booked “record” net earnings for 2013.

The company said today (10 March) net income totalled EUR172m (US$238.6m) in the 12 months to the end of 2013, up from EUR157.5m in the prior year. The group strengthened its operating performance, with EBITDA up 10% to EUR373.1m on improved margins.

Sales increased 6% to EUR1.83bn. On a constant-currency basis sales were up 10%, the group emphasised. Revenue growth was broad-based, with higher sales at both the scent and care and flavour and nutrition divisions.
