The CFO of Tengelmann, Jens-Jürgen Böckel, has announced his intention to step down from his role at the German retailer.

Böckel, who has held the position since 2000, will leave the role at the end of the month. He will, however, continue with his role as COO at Tengelmann in an advisory capacity, the company said.

“Mr. Bockel has contributed to the success of our family business. We appreciate his expertise and are pleased that he will be with us to continue with his advice,” said CEO Karl-Erivan W. Haub.

Tengelmann said the role has now been filled but a spokesperson declined to reveal who had taken up the role. “At the moment we can’t give you further information,” the spokesperson said.
