German retail grocery giant Aldi has started work on its US$40m Florida headquarters and distribution centre.
The 500,000sq ft facility, designed to support 25 stores opening in central Florida this autumn, will employ around 100 people.
The distribution centre will service stores in the Tampa, St Petersburg and Orlando areas that will begin opening in September.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aldi to the heart of Florida, and we’re pleased that they have selected Haines City to anchor its operations here,” said Haines city mayor Philip Hinkle.
