Greencore has announced Emma Hynes is returning to the Ireland-based convenience food manufacturer to take up the role of finance chief as existing CFO Eoin Tonge is set to leave in May to join retailer Marks and Spencer.

Like Tonge, Hynes will also hold the position of executive director at the London-listed business, which a week ago said it is too early to determine the impact of coronavirus on this year’s results.

Hynes, who previously served at private-label producer Greencore for 11 years in a range of finance leadership roles including group finance director, will officially become CFO on 19 May. She was most recently employed at Press Up Entertainment Group as CFO. However, to ensure an orderly transition ahead of Tonge’s departure, Hynes will join as CFO-designate on 6 April.

Greencore chief executive Patrick Coveney said in a statement today (24 March): “We are delighted that Emma is returning to Greencore having gained invaluable experience with an external company. Emma was an outstanding finance leader during her tenure with us and has an in-depth knowledge of both the group and the food and beverage sector.”
