Ketchup maker Heinz has refused to comment on reports it is planning a “major expansion” at one of its Polish factories.
According to Polish newswire, Puls Biznesu, Heinz has applied for a government grant of “almost PLN200m (US$60.5m)” for investment into its Pudliszki-brand product factory in western Poland.
The plant makes ready meals and ketchup under the Pudliszki brand for consumers in Poland. It also ships Pudliszki meals to the UK to meet the growing Polish consumer base in the country.
A spokesperson for Heinz told just-food today “it will decline the opportunity to comment” on the matter.
