Finnish meat processor HKScan has announced the launch of a range of meat snacks in the UK.

The "premium" dried and cured meat snacks will be sold under the Flodins brand.

The range includes four lines, all in 40g single serve bags: Pepper & Beef snacks and Smoky Chicken snacks; and Crispy Chicken Chips and Crispy Pork Chips. Each have an RSP of GBP1.99 (US$3.03).

The UK is following the same trend, with growth in consumer demand for high protein meat snacks which can be eaten as an alternative to crisps and other traditional snack options. HKScan has secured listings for the products. with UK convenience chain Nisa and local online grocer Ocado When asked about listings with the UK's Big Four, a spokesperson for the company told just-food: "HKScan is in discussion with a number of retailers about listing the brand."
