A second chicken farm outside a designated quarantine area was found to be infected with the H5 virus in the latest outbreak of avian flu in Hong Kong on Sunday.
The test results at the farm in the Pak Sha district of Hong Kong’s rural New Territories led to the slaughter of 7,000 birds by officials today [Tuesday]. Since the latest outbreak was first detected on 1 February, officials have killed a total of 900,000 birds.
