Soy food and beverage maker Vitasoy International Holdings has generated rising sales and earnings over the last 12 months thanks to its businesses in China, Australia and New Zealand.
The Hong Kong-based business today (3 July) posted a 21% jump in net profit to HK$211m (US$27m) on the back of a 15% rise in turnover to HK$2.4bn.
Executive chairman Winston Yau-lai Lo pointed to growth in Hong Kong, China, Australia and New Zealand and reduced losses in North America. “2007 was another fruitful year for Vitasoy,” he said.
In North America, Vitasoy saw sales rise by 8%, helping to cut its losses on the continent by more than half. The company said wider distribution into the foodservice, club store and ethnic market channels had boosted sales.
