Hormel Foods’ US nut butter and snack business Justin’s has extended its snack pack product line with the launch of Justin’s peanut butter and banana chip snack pack.
The fruit and nut combination comes in two varieties: classic and honey.
The company said the new product stands at the “intersection of two high-growth and trending categories”, nut butter and dried fruit.
Targeting on the go consumption the products contain 5-6 grams of protein, 3 grams of fibre and over 200 milligrams of potassium. The snack packs contain 200-210 calories per serving.
“After a successful launch of the snack pack last summer, we knew this conveniently nutritious snacking line had growth potential,” said Justin Gold, founder of Justin’s. “Peanut butter and bananas are the ultimate pairing. When we realized there was nothing on the market like it, we went bananas (literally) and made it happen.”
