Japanese food group Ichimasa Kamboko is to enter Indonesia, forming a local venture to manufacture surimi-based products.

Ichimasa is teaming up Indonesian local marine and agribusiness company Kelola Mina Laut. The venture, to based in West Java, is scheduled to start in July next year.

Indonesia was a "promising market" for products made with surimi, or fish paste, Ichimasa added.
