The annual turnover for 2008 was at INR67.05bn (US$1.34bn), the Amul brand-owner said.
“The federation’s milk procurement grew by 15%,” BM Vyas, MD of the GCMMF, revealed.
India has had a surplus of around 30-40,000 tonnes of milk for the last six months and is now in the process of looking for opportunities for export, the National Dairy Research Institute said.
