Indian food group Amul has launched a range of sundaes in a bid to target the premium ice cream customer.

Launched under the Amul Sundae brand, the new range goes head-to-head with the Kwality Walls sundae line distributed by Unilever subsidiary HLL. The new range comprises blackcurrant, mango, chocolate and strawberry flavours. They retail at Rs 50 (US$1.02) for a 500-ml cup.

Amul has also launched a fat-free ice cream under the Slim Scoop brand, as well as a Kulfi range to appeal to local palates.
