Wadia said that Britannia was looking at both inorganic and organic growth in the food industry. He said that Britannia would enter into areas where there was growth and profitability and it would invest whenever there was an opportunity.

Wadia said that Britannia would be a food-company, for which the company was all geared to increase the efficiency of operations. The company was ready to take on the competition, particularly at a time, when companies such as ITC had already made an entry in the food business.

Wadia said that Britannia, which enjoys a share of 38% in the branded biscuits segment, would respond to competition to maintain its position in the market.
