Indian food group Britannia Industries has booked higher net profit for fiscal 2012/13, boosted by higher sales.

In a regulatory filing today (24 May), the company said that net profit for the year to end-March rose to INR2.33bn (US$41.7m), up from INR1.87bn in fiscal 2011/12.

Profit growth at the Tiger biscuits manufacturer outstripped sales growth. Sales increased to INR56.7bn, against revenues of INR50.33bn in the previous year.
