Cadbury Schweppes is looking to strengthen its presence in India with an entry into the country’s gum market.
The UK-based group, which accounts for some 70% of chocolate sales in India, has launched its bubblegum brand Bubbaloo in India.
Cadbury MD Anand Kripalu claimed Bubbaloo has “massive potential” in India. He said today (5 July): “Bubbaloo, along with Halls and Éclairs, complements our confectionery portfolio and will significantly contribute to enhance our long-term leadership position in the category.”
Bubbaloo is already sold in 25 countries and Cadbury believes its already strong distribution network in India will help grow the brand in that market.
