Indian food processor Himalya International has formed two joint ventures in the US with two unnamed Italian cheese companies.
The east coast operation Bufflabella is located in the state of Pennsylvania, while the west coast operation – Buffla Dairy Products – will be located near Los Angeles in California.
“This will be a unique opportunity for Himalya to augment its cheese business and it shall invest in new JV companies that are being owned on 50:50 basis with the JV partners,” the company said.
Himalya said it will manufacture semi-finished Italian style buffalo mozzarella cheese at its plant in India which shall be converted to final cheese for fresh marketing throughout the US.
Himalya has also appointed a new cheese maker to assist its operations in India and US.
