Nestlé has refused to be drawn further on comments reportedly made by its India division’s chairman and managing director that it plans to make its first acquisition in the country “sooner than later”.
The local press reported Antonio Waszyk as making the comments, although he did not provide details of the companies the group is looking at.

Waszyk reportedly also said Nestlé India will move into the packaged food category, offering products such as breakfast cereals and mixes. Additionally he said the group wants to grow locally by offering a wider portfolio of products, rather than by selling more of existing lines.
