Unilever’s Indian unit has appointed former local PepsiCo executive Gettu Verma to lead its food operations in the country.

Verma will join Hindustan Unilever (HUL) as executive director for foods, a company spokesperson confirmed yesterday (12 September). “As the executive director of the foods business, she will be a part of the management committee of HUL,” the spokesperson said.

She joins HUL, in which Unilever is the majority shareholder, from PepsiCo, where, according to reports, she was executive director and vice president for innovation.

Officials at PepsiCo India had not responded for comment at the time of writing.
