Iran exported $224.7m worth of foodstuffs during the last Iranian calendar year of 1383 which ended on 20 March 2004, a rise of 11%, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
Citing the public relations department of Iran’s customs administration, it said that over $27m worth of cookies and biscuits were exported from the country during the same period, showing an increase of 78.6% compared to 1382.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Yemen were among the main destinations of the exported biscuits.
Over $24m worth of tomato paste were exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Turkmenistan during the same period.
