French retail giant Carrefour is reportedly planning to open its first store in Iraq this year.
According to a report in the Kurdish Globe, the first Carrefour branded store in the country will be opened in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region, this September.
The outlet will reportedly be managed by UAE firm Majid Al Futtaim, which operates Carrefour stores under license in the Middle Eastern region.
According to the report, the companies are scheduled to make a joint announcement this Saturday (24 April).
Neither company was available for comment at time of press.
