Irish supermarket group Superquinn has appointed Sheena Forde to the position of operations director.
With responsibility for the operational running of the company’s 23 stores, and all new store developments, Forde succeeds Ken McGrath.
Forde joined Superquinn in July 2006 from Asda where she worked for 12 years in a number of purchasing and marketing roles.
Forde said: “I’m very much looking forward to taking on this new challenge. With the great team of experienced colleagues throughout our stores I intend to work hard to deliver the best possible service we can to our customers, something which Superquinn has always been deservedly famous for.”
Last month, the Irish retailer announced plans to cut 400 jobs – around 10% of its workforce – and close one store in Dundalk as it looks to cut costs out of the business.
