“Operating profits to date are ahead of expectations, helped by good results in a number of locations. In addition, as previously announced, we have disposed of two properties during the first half of the year earning additional profits of €14m (US$17.2m). The acquisition of Everfresh in Sweden is expected to be completed shortly and should contribute positively to profits for the remainder of the year,” McCann said.
He added that the board believes that, given this “encouraging” start to 2004, the group can deliver a positive performance for the full year.
