Irish food group Glanbia is reportedly in talks to acquire the Limerick-based Dawn liquid milk business from Kerry Group.
The purchase, if completed, could be worth around EUR10m (US$13.2m), the Irish Independent reported today (17 December).
Kerry acquired Dawn with the purchase of Golden Vale in 2001, but sold the Galway liquid milk division to Arrabawn last March.
In a trading update last month, Glanbia said the business had put in a “strong performance” during the period from 4 July to 11 November, which, it said, followed an “excellent” first half to 3 July.
Kerry Group declined to comment on the reports, while Glanbia failed to return comment.
