Irish food group Glanbia said today (16 May) that it has made a strong start to the year, predicting double digit earnings growth for fiscal 2007.
Reporting to the company’s AGM, chairman Michael Walsh said that the group had seen a strong first half, with Irish and International operations performing well and consumer foods delivering on-target results in a competitive retail environment.
John Moloney, group MD, commented: “Glanbia is having a strong first half. Irish operations are performing well, International businesses are strong and we are particularly pleased with the progress of Seltzer, the 2006 Nutritionals acquisition.
“The group’s portfolio of businesses, and our continuing strong focus on cost efficiency, productivity and operational excellence throughout the business, positions us well to deliver good double digit growth in 2007 and beyond.”
