Ireland-based private-label food group Greencore is eyeing a 20% increase in operating profit for its fiscal year.

The company said today (28 September) that its group operating profit on its continuing businesses for the year to 24 September is expected to be around 20% higher on the year before.

In a trading update, Greencore also predicted adjusted earnings per share of 16.5 cents for the year. The sandwich maker, meanwhile, said underlying sales from its convenience foods business are expected to be up by around 8%.

“Our trading through the late summer and in September was fully in-line with expectations with a robust group performance overall,” Greencore said.
