Kerry Group, the Irish food company, is to appeal against the Irish Competition Authority’s decision to block its acquisition of Breeo Foods from Reox Holdings.
Last month, the Irish competition watchdog found that the proposed transaction would substantially lessen competition in the markets for the production of rashers, non-poultry cooked meats and processed cheese.
In a statement released today (29 September), Kerry said that it has filed a Notice of Appeal in the High Court against the ruling.
The company was unavailable for further comment as just-food went to press.
