UK-based frozen food retailer Iceland is to close all its stores in Ireland, leading to the loss of up to 160 jobs.
Due to heavy losses at the outlets, six shops in Dublin and one outlet in Letterkenny, Donegal would close by the end of the week, reported Ireland Online.
“Following the takeover of Iceland Frozen Foods in February, the business was found to be in a very poor state financially and also losing a substantial amount of money,” the company was quoted as saying.
Icelandic investment group Baugur acquired the Iceland business in February.
