Blue Square, the Israeli retailer, has finalised plans to open a chain of hard discount outlets and launch a range of private-label products to go on sale throughout its stores.
The company’s board of directors today (28 October) approved the plans, which will see the group set up the Mega Bool discount format by the end of the year.
Blue Square, which runs 194 supermarkets, plans to replace 36-38 Mega and Shefa Shuk stores with the new Mega Bool format, the company said.
The private-label range will be launched in December and expanded during next year.
