Food importer and kosher food supplier G. Willi-Food International has sealed its venture with the Baron family.
Under the deal, Willi-Food will hold a 50.1% stake in the joint kosher trade and export company. The Baron family will control the remaining equity.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Baron family’s export operations are to be taken over by the venture. The operations comprise the export of kosher products from more than 100 suppliers, predominantly from Israel, to markets including the US, Australia and the UK.
The product categories Baron dealt in include confectionery, cereals, frozen pastries and ice creams.
Willi-Food said it expects the venture to expand its geographical reach through the addition of several export markets, and increase its penetration in the US. The company is expected to turn over around US$10m this year.
