Israel-based food technology company Solbar Industries has announced the restructuring of its core business activities.
As of November 2005, two divisions have been established which will be responsible for all company activities. The Commodity division will be responsible for production, sales and crushing of oil and soybeans in Israel. The Specialty division will be responsible for R&D, production, marketing and sales of isolated and concentrated soy proteins, textured soy proteins and soy isoflavones to the global market.
“Solbar has grown during the last five years from a small family company to a major player in the global soy proteins market,” said Micha Harari, Solbar Industries president and CEO, An organizational change became essential to fulfill Solbar’s multi-year business goals.”
The change includes general manager appointments for each division. Assaf Gadish assumes responsibilities for the Commodities Soy division. Gadish was previously general manager of sales and logistics for the dairy division of Strauss Dairy Ltd. (Israel), a subsidiary of Danone.
Gidi Landsberger will lead Solbar’s Specialty Products Division. Landsberger served the last 5 years as general manager of H.J Heinz in Israel. Landsberger plans “to emphasize consistent high qualities, product innovations and world wide relationships as the most important factors towards making Solbar a recognized respected world class supplier of specialty soy proteins and isoflavones to all market segments.”
