Israeli supermarket chain Super-Sol has reported a second-quarter profit, compared to a year-earlier loss.


The company reported a net profit of ILS3m (US$0.66m) for the three months to 30 June, compared to a net loss of ILS19m in the year-ago period, reported Dow Jones International News.


Second-quarter sales slid to ILS1.52bn from ILS1.60bn in the same period of the previous year. Operating profit rose to ILS29m, compared to an operating loss of ILS2m in the second quarter of 2003.
