The new plant, which will mainly produce ready made ethnic salads, under the “Zabar” brand, will have the capacity to process 30,000t of salads per year. Sources at Osem commented that the new plant is slated to establish in Israel “new standards of food processing.”

One of the reasons for setting up the new plant is the constant rise in consumption of ready-made salads in Israel and in view of the success of exporting the “Zabar” ethnic salads to overseas markets, notably to West Europe and the USA.
