Wiessman was quoted in Maariv as saying that “since there are no available options in Israel at present for acquiring a food chain, we plan to invest in the USA. It seems that the most appropriate option for us is to acquire a supermarket chain in the USA.”

Alon USA has the franchise to operate the Seven-Eleven convenience stores in southwest Texas and New Mexico. It also owns 170 convenience stores in 1,700 gas stations.
