Carrefour has expanded its multi-format, single-banner strategy in Italy with the opening of its first Carrefour Market in Milan.
“Although it is Italy’s 1,599th Carrefour store, this is the first time the multi-format, single-banner strategy has been implemented in the country,” a spokesperson for the French retail giant told just-food today (5 January).
The Carrefour Market banner is aimed at customers looking for “a quick, practical and modern way of shopping”, the spokesperson said.
“It features a streamlined layout for more efficient shopping and complementary services like dry cleaning, custom ordering in refrigerated products [and] quick checkouts,” the spokesperson continued.
Located in a high-traffic area of Milan, the new Carrefour Market has 2,500 square metres of selling space and carries 20,100 products, of which 14,500 are food items.
